SandBoxing

What is Sandboxing

A sandbox is a security mechanism for separating running programs, usually to mitigate system failures and/or software vulnerabilities from spreading. It is often used to execute untested or untrusted programs or code, possibly from unverified or untrusted third parties, suppliers, users, or websites, without risking harm to the host machine or operating system. A sandbox typically provides a tightly controlled set of resources for guest programs to run in, such as storage and memory scratch space. Network access, the ability to inspect the host system, or read from input devices are usually disallowed or heavily restricted.

In the sense of providing a highly controlled environment, sandboxes may be seen as a specific example of virtualization. Sandboxing is frequently used to test unverified programs that may contain a virus or other malicious code without allowing the software to harm the host device.

Exclusive Time-of-Click Link Protection

What is URLSand defense?

As part of our Email Security Gateway solution, Libraesva UrlSand defense actively blocks malicious email URLs to protect against spear-phishing attacks, zero-day exploits, and ransomware. Every URL, not only uncategorized ones, in every email, is protected. On every device. Extend link protection when they are accessed, not only when the email arrives.

Our URLSand sandbox is not just a time-of-click additional blacklist check, it’s a comprehensive page scan, detecting deeply nested malware and suspicious pages looking at obfuscated content, and following all redirects.

Cloud Sandboxing

Our Cloud Sandbox analyzes the requested page deeply, looking for hidden threats and redirects, it’s not just a blacklist check!

What is QuickSand?

The Libraesva Quicksand Sandbox is a security service that protects Libraesva customers from malicious active content in Microsoft Office and PDF Files.

What is active content? Active content is any executable code embedded in a document, like macros, JavaScript code, and ActiveX applications.

Quicksand runs on our Email Security Gateway, for free, meaning that files never leave the gateway.

As the name suggests, the sandbox is very quick and efficient, the attachments are analyzed at the same time as the generic email analysis with no delays and aren’t vulnerable to traditional sandbox evasion techniques.
