How to Deploy Libra Esva Images on your Hypervisor

Libra Esva is available for different hypervisors. You can choose from the following types of images for your local deployment. Follow the instructions for your hypervisor to deploy the Libra Esva appliance.

Image Supported Hypervisors
OVF
  • VMware ESX and ESXi (vSphere Hypervisor) versions 4.x
  • VMWare ESX and ESXi (vSphere Hypervisor) versions 5.x
  • VMWare ESX and ESXi (vSphere Hypervisor) versions 6.x
XVA
  • Citrix XenServer 5.5+
VHD
  • Microsoft Hyper-V 2008
VHDX
  • Microsoft Hyper-V 2012-2016

 

VMware ESX and ESXi 4.x – 5.x – 6.x

If during OVF import  your VMware Environment fails to validate Integrity Checks, please read this KB 
  • Download and expand the Libra Esva OVF Image file (RAR or ZIP folder).
  • From the File menu in the vSphere Client, select Deploy OVF Template.
  • Select Import from file, navigate to the extracted folder, and locate the Libra Esva OVF file. Click Next.
  • Review the appliance information and enter a name for the virtual appliance. Click Next.
  • Select the resource pool for your virtual appliance. Click Next.
  • Select a datastore and disk formats (suggested thick). Click Next.
  • Map the network to the target network for this virtual appliance. Click Next.
  • Review deployment options. Click Finish.
  • Dimension your VM according to suggested configurations.
  • Power On the VM just created.
  • Refer to our First Deployment Guide to configure your Libra Esva Appliance.

 

Citrix XEN Server 5.5+ – 6.x

  • Download and expand the Libra Esva XVA Image file (RAR or ZIP folder).
  • From the File menu in the XenCenter client, select Import.
  • Click Browse, navigate to the extracted folder, and select the file ending in .xva. Click Next.
  • Select location where to deploy your VM. Click Next.
  • Select a storage repository for the template. Click Import.
  • Select a virtual network interface for the virtual machine. Click Next.
  • Review the deployment settings. Click Finish to import the virtual machine.
  • Dimension your VM according to suggested configurations.
  • When the virtual appliance is ready, right-click it and then click Start.

Microsoft Hyper-V 2008

This version of Microsoft Hyper-v is deprecated and will be soon unsupported.
  • Download and expand the Libra Esva Hyper-V 2008 Image file (RAR or ZIP folder).
  • Navigate to the extracted folder and verify that the HyperV folder contains the following subfolders:
    – Virtual Machines
    – Virtual Hard Disks (VHD Format)
    – Snapshots
  • In Hyper-V Manager, right-click your VM host and select Import Virtual Machine.
  • Navigate to the extracted folder, select the HyperV folder, and click Select Folder.
  • Select the Move or restore the virtual machine . Click Import.
  • When the virtual appliance is ready, select it and on the “Action Panel” click Settings.
  • Dimension your VM according to suggested configurations.
  • Select the correct network to reflect your Network Environment. Press OK.
  • Power On the VM just created.
  • Refer to our First Deployment Guide to configure your Libra Esva Appliance.
WARNING: Do not modify network MAC address setting, these settings are used internally by  Libra Esva.

 

Microsoft Hyper-V 2012-2016

  • Download and expand the Libra Esva Hyper-V 2012 Image file (RAR or ZIP folder).
  • Navigate to the extracted folder and verify that the HyperV folder contains the following subfolders:
    – Virtual Machines
    – Virtual Hard Disks (VHDX Format)
    – Snapshots
  • In Hyper-V Manager, right-click your VM host and select Import Virtual Machine.
  • Navigate to the extracted folder, select the HyperV folder, and click Select Folder.
  • Select the Move or restore the virtual machine . Click Import.
  • When the virtual appliance is ready, select it and on the “Action Panel” click Settings.
  • Dimension your VM according to suggested configurations.
  • Select the correct network to reflect your Network Environment. Press OK.
  • Power On the VM just created.
  • Refer to our First Deployment Guide to configure your Libra Esva Appliance.
