Libraesva EA v25.8: Release Notes

Libraesva EA

Main features

High Availability (HA) cluster instances

We are introducing native High Availability clustering for virtual machine instances. With this release, two VMs can be paired into a resilient HA cluster, ensuring service continuity and maximum reliability.

Key highlights:

  • active/passive architecture: the active node continuously synchronizes all data and configurations to the passive node, ensuring both remain fully aligned
  • seamless failover: administrators can promote the passive node to active at any time, guaranteeing uninterrupted service in the event of planned maintenance or unexpected outages
  • independent identity: each node maintains its own IP address and hostname, simplifying network integration and monitoring
  • non-disruptive operations: clusters can be dismantled at any time, allowing the active node to continue operating without service degradation

This feature significantly strengthens resilience, minimizes downtime, and offers enterprise-level fault tolerance.

Advanced attachment indexing

Libraesva Email Archiver has been enhanced to support full-text indexing of attachment content, extending search capabilities far beyond email bodies and filenames.

Key highlights:

  • comprehensive search: by default, both message bodies and attachments are indexed and searchable
  • broad file format coverage: PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text files, and HTML
  • tenant level configuration: a new administration page allows attachment indexing to be enabled or customized per tenant

New reports

A comprehensive set of new reports has been introduced to provide deeper insights into system usage, security, and archiving trends. Reports are delivered in spreadsheet format and, where applicable, include charts for easier data visualization.

List of new reports:

  • license usage by user and connector: shows all active users per tenant and the connector from which each user originates
  • user forward statistics: includes counts of download, restore, and forward actions
  • mail distribution over time: provides message volume per year and month, with charts similar to the “archived mails per day” dashboard; charts can be generated based on sent date or archived date, either globally or per tenant
  • connector sync time: reports average and detailed synchronization times per user
  • license usage by tenant: tracks historical license consumption across tenants
  • search activity: lists the number of searches performed by each user
  • 2FA compliance: identifies users without two-factor authentication enabled
  • impersonation rights: details which accounts have permission to impersonate other users
  • administrators overview: provides a list of admin accounts with their configured capabilities

Features

  • hidden folders: option for users to hide specific folders when browsing their mailbox folder structure in the Archiver
  • connectivity health page: new page displaying connectivity status and checks against all required Libraesva services
  • reindex job quick start: option to skip job detail checks and start a reindex immediately, useful when the API response time is long
  • job logs: always allow to download job log and automatically retrieve old logs from volume logs
  • import – MSG format: support for importing messages in MSG format
  • import – multipart zips: support for importing multipart ZIP archives
  • import – MBOX files: support for importing MBOX mail archives
  • user impersonation management: new functionality to configure impersonation rights in both directions between accounts
  • connector page controls: added button to terminate running connector synchronization or cleaning processes
  • export by folder and subfolders: option to include all child subfolders of the selected folder in exported data
  • dedicated tenant journaling address: introduced to handle Google journaling behaviors; each tenant can now have a unique journaling email address, displayed in the tenant page
  • notifications page redesign: notifications are now organized in three tabs — active, read, and snoozed
  • file tagging on volumes: all files uploaded to volumes are automatically tagged when the object storage system supports tagging
  • faster oauth2 login: login page now suggests the most recently used Microsoft 365 or Google account for quicker access
  • double-bounce purge engine: automated process to purge double-bounce messages from the mail queue
  • network speed monitoring: new engine to continuously monitor network throughput
  • always download images option: users can enable or disable automatic image download when opening emails, configurable from the profile page

Security

  • cloud appliances – enforced password change: administrators are now required to change the default password at first login, strengthening appliance security
  • enhanced audit log for mail deletions: Archiver now records detailed metadata for all deletions (manual and retention-based), including message date, deletion date, message-id, sender domain, and recipient domains. Manual deletions also include a reference in the audit log for traceability
  • dedicated restore capability: introduction of a specific capability for email restore operations, allowing finer-grained control over administrator and user permissions
  • mandatory two-factor authentication: administrators can now enforce 2FA activation for users, ensuring stronger account protection across the platform

Improvements

  • import/export concurrency limits: maximum number of concurrent operations can now be limited; if exceeded, jobs are queued and a warning is shown in the UI
  • legal hold rule processing: new background job runs every 15 minutes. When legal hold rules exist, users and retention rules cannot delete emails newer than the last run
  • database optimization: improved automatic weekly optimization for better performance
  • connector scheduling: increased reliability when scheduling newly configured connectors
  • ea installation wizard: automatically redirects to the login page after installation completes
  • postfix notifications: disabled per-message delivery failure notifications and resource/software error alerts, reducing noise and avoiding mail loops. Error management is handled internally
  • weekly scheduling info: UI now clarifies that weekly connector schedules push users to the queue every Friday at 8 pm
  • SMTP listener credentials: added validation to detect duplicate credentials across tenants, with clear UI error messages
  • LDAP configuration: query strings longer than 255 characters now trigger a warning message
  • license page improvements: redesigned to display all relevant license usage information in one place
  • faster folder searches: optimized search performance within mailbox folders
  • export folder structure: exports now include the full root directory and all nested folders
  • tenant hard delete: operation now also removes temporary archived data and metadata automatically
  • connector types UI: improved alignment and color coding for connector type indicators

Bugfix

  • PST batch restart: resolved an issue where restarting a PST batch action did not correctly restart all failed or missing PST files in some cases
  • tenant reports generation: fixed an error that prevented tenant admins from generating certain reports
  • PST download after export: corrected an issue that could block PST file downloads following an export

How to update
